The Catskills’ ultimate lakeside basecamp for hiking, camping, and iconic mountain views.

The 1,100-acre park surrounds an 83-acre lake and offers wooded campsites, swimming beaches, paddling, fishing, and direct access to some of the most iconic hiking trails and overlooks in the Great Northern Catskills. Visitors can camp overnight or enjoy the park as a day-use destination.
From the campground, visitors can hike to Artist’s Rock, Sunset Rock, Newman’s Ledge, Boulder Rock, North Point, and the historic Catskill Mountain House site — where panoramic views stretch across the Catskills and the Hudson Valley and, on clear days, into five states. The surrounding escarpment landscape inspired generations of Hudson River School painters and continues to define the classic Catskills experience today. (New York State Parks)

Classic Catskills camping is best for scenic hiking, lake days, fall foliage weekends, photography, and outdoor family getaways.
Please note swimming, boat rentals, and campground operations are seasonal. Reservations are strongly recommended during summer and fall weekends.
