Take a short hike to one of the Catskills’ memorable scenic overlooks. Kaaterskill Clove Lookout offers dramatic views into the Lower Kaaterskill Clove, with the Hudson Valley stretching beyond the mountains.

This 1.8-mile round-trip hike follows part of the Long Path, a trail route connecting the hamlet of Palenville with North-South Lake State Campground. Much of the route follows the historic Sleepy Hollow Horse Trail, once used to travel from Palenville toward the mountaintop hotels of the Catskills.

Located off Route 23A in Palenville, the trail is a rewarding option for visitors looking for a shorter outdoor adventure with classic Catskills scenery.
